Yoga
Our yoga draws from the ancient systems of Hatha yoga and Taoist energy training to create a unique Vinyasa blend. Through each class, students develop strength and flexibility, focus and balance, body awareness, mental clarity, and breath control. Classes include postures, meditation, breathing techniques, and yogic principles.
Tai-Chi
Chi/Ki-energy circulation, breathing and movement techniques in serene sequential forms. A proven method for good health maintenance and self-defense, Tai-Chi strengthens the body without risk of strain or injury. It also aids in recovery of many illnesses, such as arthritis, stress-related problems, back pain and joint injuries. We teach the Yang Style 24-Forms.
Energy Training
A class that combines elements of yoga and tai-chi into forms and movements that work the body and mind on a deeper, energetic level. This class is for students looking to experience energy and deep meditation and is suitable for all levels.
Belly Dancing
A beautiful and graceful dance, originating in the Middle East, Belly Dancing strengthens and awakens the core muscles while moving sensually to rhythmic song. Class is open level - suitable for beginners as well as those with bellydance experience. Sorry guys, class is for women only.
Bam! Boo! A rip-roaring workout that combines elements of Power Yoga, Kung Fu, Self-Defense, and Mixed Martial Arts to strengthen and tone your core in fun and dynamic ways. Thursday’s class is sword training with Kendo wooden short swords.
Capoeira
Capoeira is an art form created from the experiences of African slaves during the colonial period of Brazil. Incorporating music, singing and acrobatics, capoeira is a game of negotiation through movement, facilitating self-expression and empowering defense. Classes introduce fundamental movements and their application within capoeira games accompanied by traditional rhythms. Flexibility, strength, balance, creativity and aerobic conditioning—this is a high-intensity class open to anyone interested in challenging their physical limits.
No experience required. Open level. Loose-fitting pants recommended, bare feet preferred.
